Chenrezig Statues

Chenrezig Rupas Chenrezig is the Bodhisattva of Boundless Compassion. One of the most popular of all Buddhist deities, Chenrezig is known by different names in many different countries: as Avalokiteshvara in the Sanskrit language of India, In China as Kuan Shih Yin, In Japan as Kanzeon, In Vietnam as Quan’Am, and in Bali as Kanin.

Chenrezigs Four Arms and Hands signify the Four Immeasurables: Immeasurable loving kindness, Immeasurable compassion, Immeasurable joy, and Immeasurable equanimity.

All the various features of the Chenrezig Rupa have meaningful symbolic connections to the wonderful qualities of the energy associated with Chenrezig. Having a Rupa in our environment reminds us of our own intrinsic potential and encourages us to gradually awaken our own awareness of those same qualities that are in ourselfs and all sentient beings.

The exact form of the statue is very important. Each statue is rich in symbolism, with sacred scriptures specifying the detailed iconography. Statues are made using the ancient ‘lost wax’ casting process and require the highest level of craftsmanship. We have gone to great lengths to seek out and work with a family of artisans who are both highly skilled and have great respect for the work they are involved in.

We are also one of the only sources to buy properly filled Rupas. According to Buddhist tradition with instructions outlined in the Buddhist texts, Rupas are specially filled with specific Mantras and Sang. Sang is a special filling prepared by monks for placing inside the rupas. After being filled, the bottom of the Rupa is sealed; the Mantras and Sang add a beneficial energy and quality to each Rupa. If you know a Rinpoche, Lama or teacher that you would rather have fill the Rupa for you, please let us know and we will leave your Rupa unfilled.

Designed to exact descriptions in the Buddhist texts and commentaries, each statue is a work of art and tool for self evolution. All our Rupas are carefully filled with special Sang and specific mantras. These are truly some of the finest Rupas available; exquisite in design and finish, completely gilded in gold, with hand-painted faces.
